OMNIX: Revolution in Motion

Company Background
Omnix Technology Systems, Inc.'s potential in omni directional applications is limited only by the imagination. Omnix produces standard and specialized transporters for material handling, ground support equipment, military/security vehicles, mobility/utility products, robotics, and automated guidance vehicles (AGV's). Omnix's technology will be instrumental in providing companies the freedom to maneuver in ways previously thought impossible.

Omnix is being led by the world’s most experienced team of engineers and project managers utilizing omni directional technology and microprocessor omni-control systems. The US Navy started by reviving the omni directional wheel design and adding a micro processor control box with joystick command for transporters used on aircraft carriers. Once released thru a technology CRADA for commercialization, Omnix (successor of OIC) has advanced the technology making it more reliable, robust, relevant for many applications, and most importantly, affordable to many industries.

Since October of 2002, Omnix’s efforts in developing omni directional technology has found a variety of customers with specialized material handling requirements interested in improving production. Omnix has developed and produced omni directional components, vehicles and integrated systems for NASA Langley Research Center, Marand Precision Engineering, Foster-Miller, Air Technical Industries, Applied Materials (AKT) and more.

As Omnix enters the practical-applications stage of bringing its innovative technology to business, private and consumer sectors, each day presents the chance to discover new uses for Omnix’s technology. From day-to-day ordinary usage to transporting goods, to munitions handling, Omnix is eager to expand upon the basic principles of motion and usher in The Revolution in Motion.

Todd Peca – President / Sr. Project Manager
Mr. Peca has had a long and successful career as a Project Manager overseeing many multi-million dollar projects and contracts for the government and private sectors. In 2002, Mr. Peca founded Omnix Technology Systems, Inc. (OTSI) in partnership with Lou Marrero to continue the development and commercial production of our unique omni-directional technology. Mr. Peca has served as Sr. Project Manager for Omnix since its conception and has built a solid reputation for providing quality machines to high tech automated systems for robotics, specialized material handling, and systems integrations contractors and manufacturers.

Lou Marrero – New Products Director
Mr. Marrero holds a BEE from City College of NY. He was a long standing employee of Grumman Aerospace Corp: F-14 Project Manager, 10 years,.; 3 full combat cruises (7 months or more) aboard CV-61, USS Ranger, CVN-65 USS Enterprise, and CVA-64, USS Constellation.

Mr. Marrero was the founder of OIC, which originally participated in the CRADA from the US Navy. He has over 10 years experience in the design of omni-directional vehicle systems, including improvements to wheel efficiency, load capacity, and advancements to reduce production costs of these wheels with streamlined manufacturing methods. Mr. Marrero has attained proficiency in the design of omni directional transporters for heavy loads.

Hillery McGowen – Sr. Engineering Consultant
Mr. McGowen holds B.S. Physics, from the University of Southern Mississippi, with continuing Engineering and Project Management education through U.S. Navy Coastal Systems Center/Station. Prior to his employment by Omnix, Mr. McGowen worked for the U.S. Navy’s Coastal System Station in Panama City, FL, as a Program Manager and Project Engineer responsible for a series of Logistic and Underway Replenishment (UNREP) developments. Mr. McGowen was the Project Engineer responsible for the U.S. Navy’s ODV development for 10 years, culminating in the production of operational Omni-Directional Transporters successfully demonstrated aboard U.S. Navy ships. Mr. McGowen has written multiple papers on omni directional technology and is considered one of the world’s leading authorities of this technology.
